Rosie, You Ignorant Slut

After one adventurous year on “The View” Rosie “the mouth” O’Donnell is departing due to contract disputes with ABC. O’Donnell claims that she and ABC could not agree on a new contract so she has chosen to step down from her seat come June.

O’Donnell boosted ratings for the View nearly 15 percent in the key women’s demographic for ABC. Prior to this the show had been floundering slightly. O’Donnell’s key to ratings was the fact that a filter did not exist between her brain and her mouth.

The first of her “incidents” was accusing Kelly Rippa of homophobia against Clay Aiken. This was brilliant, because Rippa never actually called Aiken gay, in fact, O’Donnell more or less outed Aiken and called him a homosexual. Ah, Roise, you ignorant slut.

And of course, there was Trump incident. Where O’Donnell and Trump bickered back and forth over, well, to be honest I’ve forgotten and don’t care to remember. In the end though Barbara Walters, the creator of the show, was left to constantly clean up Rosie’s mess. The latest being a Catholic group threatening to sue the show and ABC for comments O’Donnell made they felt were offensive.

In show business it’s said that there is no such thing as bad publicity. But, now in the post-Imus era, any comment that could be deemed as offensive to any group could spell big trouble for the Networks. Though, it’s rumored Rosie is in talks for her own morning talk show.

So, is Rosie a defender of the right to free speech? A gallant crusader saying what she feels and when she wants , consequences be damned! Or is she just some dumbass from Long Island who happened to get on the airwaves to spout her half-informed brain droppings?

To be honest, I don’t know. But, to be sure, it made for some great television.
